Related State Objectives
The goal of public health programming is to support individual behavior change in SNAP and SNAP eligible populations by working within the interpersonal, organizational, community and policy spheres of the social ecological model. Specific goals for 2014-2015 are as follows:
- Improve access to fruits and vegetables for low-income populations.
- Modify the school environment to support healthy behaviors.
The above goals will be achieved through implementation of several specific projects including: SNAP at the Farmers Market social marketing campaign, Farm to Backpack, School and Community Gardens, Farm to School, Nap-SACC, Healthy Concessions and Smarter Lunchrooms.
